I’m Lorraine Black, proud owner of A-One Medical Services, Inc.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

Some time ago, I realized that patients needed the opportunity to be cared for in their own homes. Prior to this, most long-term patients remained in hospitals, went to facilities or institutions. I got into this business because I saw a need.

I worked in the ICU at a local hospital and often took care of patients who had no place to go after being discharged. Just like everyone else, they too wanted to go home. I started this business with the primary focus of helping them achieve that goal.

I have been working in this field since 1984. Furthermore, I began a Medicare agency, called Caring Hearts, which was strictly Home Health Aide care, for low-tech patients.

Solving challenging problems and helping people is the most enjoyable part of my business. We have a personal and professional commitment to caring and meeting people’s health needs in their homes. Autonomy is the most rewarding part of owning the business.

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others are my values of honesty, integrity, and loyalty. I attribute my success to hard work, personal sacrifice, becoming involved in understanding laws that affect health care, and advocating for changes in health care legislation.

When I am not at work, I like spending time with family, traveling, and animal rescue. I feel very strongly about the environment, animal welfare, and political changes as well.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
