Neuromuscular disorder is a blanket term that covers a wide range of disorders affecting nerves and muscles than can present from infancy to adulthood. They include: muscular dystrophies, spinal muscular atrophies, hereditary neuropathies, congenital myopathies, myasthenias, myotonic syndromes, metabolic myopathies, and inflammatory myopathies.
